2) I think the odds are high? A daylight ring is essentially a protection spell against the sun. It doesn't really matter the type of vampire, only if the sun affects them.

Two of them are. One, you're very familiar with - [aka Jessica] - and the other is Regis. He's not as old as you are but considerably. The interesting thing though is his kind aren't turned. They're more of an actual species than an amalgamation of the two.
