[And I randomized because that's how I roll: Wizard's Tower, Pirate Ship, and ... Pool of Acid. But she's willing to forgive that one for the second one, which smells of salt and the brine of the ocean, and reminds her of when her father would come back from his long trips away, smelling of the sea and always so happy to see her.

She has something for Bonnie as well, but she would rather give it in person, if possible. She picks up her device and texts back in return.]

you're welcome! i haven't figure out how to make them permaburn-- maybe next year, though :) how's your holiday been so far? do the mikaelsons celebrate christmas?

[Nah, it's fine, the value of the one balances out any disappointments that may have been in the other two.]

We do, actually. We have a lovely family tradition where we build a bonfire. We write wishes for the new year on slips of paper and then burn them in the flames.

this probably comes off really offensive but that sounds like exactly the thing your family would do.

[ jealous? bonnie? never... brunch at her dad's was never exciting but she can't deny missing it a little. ]

Not offensive at all. And it is. I've never really had holiday traditions, so it's nice that they've adopted me into theirs.

Well, we didn't celebrate Christmas when I was still with them. So it's not as though these are our parents traditions passed down to us. They're Klaus and Rebekah and Elijah's, and they share them with me.

[So not in a sense that she doesn't feel like she's part of the family, but more that the family is learning something new.]

ohh i see. that makes it seem a lot more special, then. i mean, the extent of traditions in my family was stockings on christmas eve.

Still, at least you were spending time with each other. That's an opportunity not everyone gets.

[Traditions are important, but quality family time is more important, at least in Freya's mind.]

i'm starting to get that now, yeah. i never had a normal family, but i think i definitely appreciate them more lately. which is weird-- i'll forget that if i ever do go back.

I'm sure you'll find your way to realize it again. Most people usually do.
